Paris, 1984-1985. Sarah (Beart) is a mom regretted overlooking the newborn child, rich, writes stories for children and is married to Mehdi (Bouajila), head of the vice squad. This story begins a clandestine love affair with the young Manu (Libéreau), whom he met through a mutual friend, a doctor homosexual ways very different from (Blanc). When Manu discovers he has the contract AIDS, for Mehdi will panic.
always attracted by the theme of "difficult" time Techiné proposes the enactment of the dawn of AIDS (he had already done in 1990 with Norman Rene What about Willy? ) with an ensemble film told off by the voice of the writer who finds in his own personal drama and that of her husband an opportunity to leave their own creative crisis and write his first novel. Not always, however, the film fails to convince: want to break the story, want to test a Beart and backing ever so subdued.
